Lacona

Lacona is a unique and fascinating destination: let your soul lead your body, exploring the Mediterranean landscape with all its sensual delights and secrets! Let us tempt you to the warm colours, the odours and the thriving life in this region.
Watch Lacona Bay from the nearby hilltops or from a boat and you will certainly recognize the finely terraced vineyards that have been hewn out of the sunny scarps by generations of men and women to grow the region’s most exquisite product: the vine l`Aleatico dell’Elba.
Large parts of the hills and many valleys of Elba were cultivated until the 1950s. Cultivating vine and crops were, together with fishery and a small mining industry, the only source of income for the district.
Due to the gradual emerge of tourism people have occasionally ceased their agricultural activities, which lead to an increased distribution of a plant called Mediterranean Macchia, that has already captured the steep hills and coasts.

Among the many riches of the beautiful landscape the following are really worth visiting:
• The beaches of Lacona and Laconella
• The beaches of Margidore and Acquarilli
• The Pinone
• Chiesa Madonna della Neve
• The mountains Tambone, San Martino, Orello and the cape Fonza and Stella
• The rock-cliffs Triglia and Corbelli, the banks of Capo Fonza and Focacciola, the island Corbella
